“Rising Stars” on March 10 at the North Notts Arena features the up-and-coming talent in the ever-expanding JE Promotions stable.
The exciting line-up, promoted by former pro Joe Elfidh in association with Scott Calow Boxing, will be the seventh event at the popular East Midlands venue.
Topping the bill is rising super-welterweight star Kyle Fox (4-0) from Armthorpe.
The 24-year-old will be up against Dale Arrowsmith (1-11) in his first six-rounder as he begins to work towards title contention.
The former Yorkshire amateur boxing champion finished his debut year in the top half of the 154lbs British rankings with four wins out of four. He has won all 16 professional rounds of his career, so far.
In his previous outing last November, he boxed clever to defeat the experienced veteran William Warburton (24-125-9) 40-37 on points.
Trained by Michael White out of the Fighting Fit Gym in Dinnington, Fox said, “Looking to get another win on the record and to get more rounds in under my belt. Basically, just trying to work my way towards a shot at the Central Area title this year.”
In his second fight under Elfidh's management, “The Hurricane” Hassan Ahmed (7-0) has well and truly dusted off the ring rust since joining the JE Promotions stable in 2017.
The Yemeni-born boxer had not fought since 2014 due to contract issues with his former manager, but he’s now back in the driving seat of his career since teaming up with new manager Joe Elfidh.
A routine points win last September against fellow JE Promotions fighter Ricky Leach (3-20-1) has set up the momentum for the talented 25-year-old to get back to where he should be after more than six years in the paid ranks.
Trained by Steve Barnes at the Lower Manor Boxing Club, the flyweight will be looking to make up for lost time on March 10 against an opponent yet to be confirmed.
There will be exciting heavyweight action provided by Mark Bennett (1-0), who made his successful transition from the unlicensed scene into the pro ranks last November at the same venue.
The 30-year-old Doncaster puncher, known as “Bad News”, only had his first boxing fight aged 27.
The former unlicensed champion looked strong as he beat Hungarian Ferenc Zsalek (21-62-6) comfortably on points on his debut last November to go to 1-0.
Also trained by White at the Fighting Fit Gym, Bennett could be an exciting new addition to the already bubbling heavyweight scene, and has already voiced his plans to reach the top-10 as soon as possible.
Seven-time Yorkshire amateur champion Sonny Boy Price (1-0) gets another learning fight against Youssef Al Hamidi (14-116-3) over four-rounds.
In his debut last November at the arena, he outpointed Stockport’s Jamie Quinn (3-48-2) 40-36.
Dinnington’s Chris Reyes (1-0) also debuted on the same night as Price with a shutout points win over Margate’s Ricky Leach (3-23-1).
The ex-army boxing champion will be looking to double his win tally in another four-round learning fight. Manager, Elfidh, is keen to fast-track his 118lbs charge to titles as soon as possible.
Derby’s 19-year-old lightweight sensation Sahib Mann (5-0) will be looking to kick off what is destined to be an exciting year with another win on the record; Nottingham’s “Praying Mantis” Omari Grant (4-0) continues his education against Blackburn’s Naheem Chaudry (0-8); and Lincoln’s Jordan McLoughlin (2-1) looks to bounce back from a points loss to Sheffield’s Nathan Hardy (5-15-2) in his last fight.
