'Go-Getter' Grant Dennis (15-2, 3KOs) takes on No.1 Russian middleweight Andrey Sirotkin (18-1, 6KOs) in Minsk, Belarus on Tuesday, October 6.
The middleweights do battle over 10 rounds on promoter Al Siesta's Kold Wars II event.
35-year-old Sirotkin is already well known to British fight fans when he challenged John Ryder (28-5, 16KOs) for his WBA Inter-Continental super-middleweight title in October 2018 at the Copper Box Arena, live on Sky Sports. Islington's Ryder stopped Sirotkin in the seventh round of their scheduled 12-round championship contest.
The Russian has since bounced back with three wins on the spin, all between July 2019 to July 2020. A first round KO over Varazdat Chernikov (11-16, 5KOs), who had a winning record at the time, was followed by a unanimous points win over former WBO European champion Apti Ustarkhanov (18-4-3, 5KOs) to claim the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental middleweight title in February this year. His last fight was just recently on July 30 against Ukrainian champion Artem Karpets (21-15, 6KOs), which he won via fourth-round knockout, making it three fights in a row where he has floored his opponents.
His most notable win was over faded former two-weight world champion Ricardo Mayorga (32-12-1, 26KOs) to win the vacant WBA Inter-Continental super-middleweight title, which he defended successfully against Canadian Ryan Ford (17-6, 12KOs), who was British light-heavyweight champion Joshua Buatsi's (12-01 10KOs) most recent victim.
Managed by Joe Elfidh, Chatham's Grant Dennis is a former Southern Area middleweight champion and English title contender. He has also won British and international Challenge belts during his six-year pro career.
Trained Veron Quammie, Dennis was an ABA semi-finalist and once fought heavyweight David Price in the amateurs. As a youngster, he also played semi-pro for his local football club, Maidstone United.
His first defeat was to unbeaten Elliot Matthews (21-0-1, 9KOs) from the away corner at York Hall in 2017. One judge scored it a point apart, but Dennis and his team felt they were robbed on the night. In May 2019, Dennis entered the fast-paced, explosive Ultimate Boxxer middleweights tournament where he faced three unbeaten opponents in one night, undefeated in 23 fights between them. Firsty, Dennis defeated hard-hitting Joe Hurn (10-1-1, 6KOs) in the quarters with a third-round TKO, followed up with a unanimous points win in the semis over Sean Phillips (7-1-1, 3KOs), scoring a first-round knockdown to book his place in the final. A third-round knockdown to overall winner Derrick Osaze (10-0, 2KOs) cost Dennis the decision on the scorecards, one judge scoring it a draw.
Grant is joined by fellow Brit Asinia Byfield (14-3, 6KOs) who takes on Aleksei Evchenko (19-13-1, 8KOs) the same card.
