BBN ask key figures in boxing for their predictions for the Josh Taylor vs Ryan Martin WBSS fight
Prestonpans super-lightweight Josh Taylor (13-0), 27 and signed to Cyclone Promotions, tackles unbeaten American Ryan Martin (22-0), 25 from Cleveland Ohio, on November 3 in Glasgow with the Scot's WBC Silver super-lightweight strap on the line, as well as a place in the semi-finals.
Two young, exciting, unbeaten fighters with bundles of potential and 35 victories between them, but who wins and why? BBN called upon their boxing experts to try to discover who's hand will be raised between 'The Tartan Tornado' or 'Blue Chip':
Tim Rickson
Sports Agent
"I don't confess to know a lot about Ryan Martin, having not seen many of his fights before, but it would have to take someone very special to be able to match Taylor, let alone get the better of him.
The fight with Victor Postol showed chinks in Taylor's armour for the first time, but that was his first step up in levels and a win over Postol, however it comes, is an incredible scalp to have on your record, so full credit to Taylor for taking the challenge against a former world champion and a very awkward, tricky, clever opponent, who's only other loss is to Terence Crawford.
Taylor deliberately chose Martin, which shows his confidence in his ability, and I back him to win in another tough, high-paced, technical fight. With four of his last five fights ending early, I could see a KO on the cards for Taylor, maybe even as early as the sixth-round."
